The Vatican launched its own YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/vaticanit, showcasting clips of Pope Benedict XVI in a bid to both engage with the digital generation and better control the papal image online. In its inaural foray on Friday(23rd January, 2009), the vatican highlighted one of the 81- year old pontiff's latest appeals for peace int the Gaza Strip, and showed him welcoming viewers to "feel involved in this great dialogue of truth.
