Along with the Yari and Satio, Sony Ericsson has also launched the Aino touchscreen handset in India, which features some unique integration with the PlayStation 3.
The Aino comes with a feature called Remote Play for the PS3, which lets you control your video game console and access it contents via a Wi-Fi or WLAN connection. The MediaGo feature allows for a similar functionality to pull media content from your PC to your phone. Neat!

Microsoft plans to backport a 'ribbon' user interface feature it introduced in Windows 7 to Windows Vista, according to the company's developer website.

On the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN), Microsoft indicated that it is planning support for the interface in Vista around the same time Windows 7 is released. Microsoft has said it would release Windows 7, the follow-up to Vista, worldwide on October 22.

The ribbon framework, part of Windows 7's graphical presentation layer, is an interface that uses a visual command bar at the top of the page to direct a user to menu items and toolbars that were previously hidden in drop-down menus.

Microsoft first introduced the ribbon with the 'Fluent' interface for its Office 2007product, which at first caused some transition pains for users who were used to the previous interface.

On the MSDN site, a Microsoft executive wrote that a Vista user can download the interface once it's available as an update, to be called the Windows 7 Client Platform Update. The software will be a 'recommended update' through the Microsoft Download Center on Windows Update and won't be automatic.

Microsoft did not respond to requests made through its public relations firm for more information on what prompted the move.

ISRO has developed an indigenous application that explore and visualize IRS images over Indian region. Bhuvan is an initiative to showcase this distinctiveness of Indian imaging capabilities including the thematic information derived from such imagery which could be of vital importance to common man with a focus on Indian region. Bhuvan, an ambitious project of ISRO to take Indian images and thematic information in multiple spatial resolutions to people through a web portal through easy access to information on basic natural resources in the geospatial domain. Bhuvan showcases Indian images by the superimposition of these IRS satellite imageries on 3D globe. It displays satellite images of varying resolution of India’s surface, allowing users to visually see things like cities and important places of interest looking perpendicularly down or at an oblique angle, with different perspectives and can navigate through 3D viewing environment. The degree of resolution showcased is based on the points of interest and popularity, but most of the Indian terrain is covered upto at least 5.8 meters of resolution with the least spatial resolution being 55 meters from AWifs Sensor. With such rich content, Bhuvan opens the door to graphic visualisation of digital geospatial India allowing individuals to experience the fully interactive terrain viewing capabilities.
Multi-resolution images from multi-sensor IRS satellites of India is seamlessly depicted through the Bhuvan web portal by enabling a common man to zoom into specific area of interest at high resolution. NASA’s planet-finder, the Kepler Orbiting Telescope is in good shape to begin discovering Earthlike planets, according to its initial results

The planet-hunting Kepler space telescope has found its first extrasolar planets, in the form of three alien worlds that had been previously discovered with ground-based telescopes.

According to a report in New Scientist, the finds confirm that Kepler’s instruments are sensitive enough to detect Earth-like planets around sun-like stars.

Kepler launched on 6 March with a simple charge: Stare at a swatch of sky for three and a half years, and look for Earths.

The telescope will hunt transiting exoplanets, planets that pass in front of their stars and dim their brightness at regular intervals.

It’s focused on a 100-square-degree patch of the Milky Way between the constellations Cygnus and Lyra that contains about 4.5 million stars, 100,000 of which are prime candidates for planets.

In the first 10 days of its calibration period, Kepler collected data on 52,496 stars, three of which were known to have transiting planets.

“We expected to be able to see those instantly from the first data that we took,” said project manager Jim Fanson at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. “Any planet that you can detect from the ground will be very obviously visible to Kepler,” he added.

One of these planets, HAT-P-7b, provided some good news that Kepler is indeed sensitive enough to detect alien Earths.

HAT-P-7b is so hot – more than 2300 degrees Celsius – that it radiates its own light.

“That is about the temperature of a glowing red heating element in a stove or toaster,” said deputy principal investigator David Koch of NASA’s Ames Research Center. “So, the planet is glowing red,” he added.

Kepler detects the light emitted by both the sun and the planet. This means it can tell when the planet passes behind the star as well as in front of it.

When the planet is in front, it blocks a bit of the star’s brightness; but when the star is in front, the planet’s light disappears.

Kepler measured the dip in brightness when HAT-P-7b hid behind its star with extreme precision – more than enough to detect other Earths, according to Koch.

“Kepler is operating at the level required to detect Earth-size planets,” according to Koch and colleagues. “The signal from a Sun-Earth analogue will be at a comparable level of statistical significance,” they added.

“These are very exciting times for exoplanets,” MIT planetary scientist Sara Seager said. “I am personally very excited about this result because it comes from only 10 days of Kepler data,” she said, adding that over Kepler’s expected operating lifetime of 3.5 years, there will be much more data that it should become possible to learn many additional details of this planet, as well as many others.

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have announced the dates for the Common Admission Test 2009. The first edition of the computer-based CAT will be held between November 28 and December 7.
The test will be held in two sessions—one in the morning and the other in the evening. Candidates can choose date and venue from any of the 30 cities across India. IIMs have not clarified whether online CAT would be available to candidates abroad. A notification issued jointly by the IIMs says the CAT-2009 advertisement will appear in leading newspapers on August 30.
The IIMs have decided to go paperless from this year, implying that the bulky CAT bulletin will no longer be sold. “Candidates will have to buy scratch-vouchers from designated bank branches and later register online for CAT-2009,’’ the statement added. The sale of vouchers begins on September 9 and ends on October 1. Candidates can register online for the test from September 9.

SAIL is having five section - Reasoning ( 45 ) , Quanti. ques.( 35 ), Genral knowledge ( 35 ), English Comp ( 35 )., Technical Question ( 100 ).
In previos year their is some change in no of questions.
And total time given is 2 hour 25 minutes....
Their is not saparate time given for saperate sections, all section have to solve in 2:25 hour, but individual cuttoff is their ....

This is vry easy to solve and I suggest to solve as many as possible becoz easy to solve and efficiency is above 90 %.

Family relation - one question - "A person looking at portral and said that ' his mother is wife of my father .I m only child of my father' what is relation between them "
five question - " A, B ,C, D, E ,F are five , A is ..., B is ...and so on " a very well known question belong to R.S.Agrawal " and five easy question based on that.
DIsc problem - one question - " two diagram was given and ask that no of dots opposite to one dots " vry simple ...
Sitting Arrengment - five question based on sitting arrengment that was a little time taking but easy to solve.
Syllogism - four to five question based on that in which statment and conclusion was given and have to solved.
Odd one out - one are two odd one out type but question was too easy and must be tried.
Venn Diagram - four question from R.S.agrawal " Square represent girls, square rep. sportperson , circle rep. coach and question based on that".
LR - some question are based on that but vry easy to solve.
Direction finding - one or two question based on that...

Over all this section was thats most scoring section and i must suggest you to prepair that esay and score most in that.....
